India - Shining Dress

Janice: There's something here that screams "Shilpa Shetty", and it's probably the fact you look like her. Twins? Most of Indian fashion is based on tradition. We know they like warm, earthy colors. India's fashion industry is interesting, it still is very tradition based. This is shining dress, it's fine from a Western point of view, but you're having a bit of a boob slip here, and that is far too risqué for India. The whole dress just doesn't look what what comes out of India, as a whole. I'm not talking about sarees, I know not all Indian fashion is sarees (though they do make some beautiful sarees I must say), but even the more western designs have traditional Indian influences.

Lana: You look amazing. The body language is really good. But Janice was right. Your shining dress here is leaning towards to Western more than Bollywood. I can see the Bollywood in your movement, pose and styling but as for the dress, not so much.

Amanda: When I saw this photo, the first thing I remembered was Shilpa's photo, which Janice so kindly posted already. That shiny, perhaps silk dress could definitely work for India... but it has been Americanized. Your face is FIERCE, your hair is wonderful, and the styling works - the issue is that it doesn't relate to the theme. However, you look beautiful enough and have been on enough of a roll lately that I couldn't rank you last. Make of that what you will.

Zooey: I LOVE that dress and I LOVE your pose. So very fierce. You give us so much in this photo even with such a plain background. The plain background actually works in your favor this time. Any other background and it'd be too much going on. You nailed every aspect of the modeling portion of the shoot, so the question in my mind becomes "Did she hit the theme aspects, too?" For the most part, you did. I can see India in the picture. It's pretty good theme incorporation, but I did need to look at the description and then I said "Oh, yeah... now I see it." In the end, thinking back over your portfolio through the entire competition thus far, I think this may actually be my favorite picture from you.

Morgan: Sexy lady! You are working that dress girl, and it looks amazing on you. I can really see India in this, your skin tone, pose, dress and the rich earthy colors complete it all for me. I can see where the judges are coming from in which it looks a little american and modern. But overall I love this. Your strong pose, beautiful tension and intensity in your face!
